The 2XI started the league games this year at home to newly promoted Great Brickhill 2XI.
We were duly put in to bat on a beautiful looking home patch. Things started well with Coates setting the platform nicely. We then buckled under some mid innings pressure and lost a few wickets for barely any runs.
A rain delay then set in with many deliberations over “thunder rules” to little use. Paddy Daniel pushed the cause late on after an early tea but we struggles to get to a par total, finishing on 140.
We were never in full control of their chase bowling too many four balls but we have it a good go. Some more excellent slip catching on display from Woods and hopefully a few more overs for Roberts next week to keep him off my back!
Great to be back into it but more practice required for better results.
